LEATHER

CHARACTERISTICS
After the Apple product is made wholly (or part thereof) from leather. Leather is a natural product and will age, soften and change over time.

All After the Apple leathers are carefully selected and dyed, tanned and skived to specification. These methods result in a natural finish whereby colours vary and hide markings are visible. There are always variations in leather – from back to front, from bag to bag. Tanning methods used will keep the leather supple.

This is the characteristic of this natural medium and variances will occur. Slight imperfections are entirely normal. Product returns will not be accepted on this basis.

MANUFACTURE
After the Apple employs hand drawn manufacturing techniques in small, boutique factories. Resulting in genuine, original characteristics with attention to detail. If you have any further questions on this area, please do not hesitate to contact.

PROTECT

UPON RECEIPT
The best maintenance for longevity is achieved by a light spray of a Water and Stain Protector before wearing. Mister Minit offers a reasonable product. The spray should also be applied regularly to help resist the effects of daily soiling. For smooth, shiny and exotic leathers, you may use a nourishing cream specifically designed for leather. Apply the conditioner on a lint-free or microfiber cloth, not directly on the item, in several light, even coats, letting the skin dry between applications.

DUBBIN BY JOSEPH LYDDY
For shiny, sturdy Cow leathers only, you can apply Dubbin Neutral by Joseph Lyddy. The polish nourishes leather, at the same time forming a slightly greasy-feeling protective film. It keeps leather soft and supple. Traditional waterproofing to seal out the wet.
To apply, wipe the surface clean, rub in evenly with brush or soft cloth giving special attention to stitching. Allow to penetrate. The application may darken certain leather. Try first in an inconspicuous area before using.

DAY TO DAY

USAGE
Do not overfill your After the Apple product. The fittings are manufactured to hold a specific weight and will not stand ridiculously heavy objects or an unpractical number of belongings. Always store your product in the Dust Bag provided, when not in use.

AVOID
For the best possible care of leather, we suggest the product is kept away from denim (colour pigments may transfer), non colour-fast garments, make-up spills, perfume, alcohol, water and direct sources of heat and concentrated light. Light coloured leather is vulnerable to marking and sensitive to light. Discolouration may occur over time.

HARDWARE ON PRODUCT
Hardware fittings and YKK zippers may suffer from extensive light, humidity and salt. Please avoid these factors.

CLEAN

CLEANING & CARING
If the product requires cleaning, we strongly recommend taking it to your local boot-maker or leather specialist who is skilled in working with leather. If you attempt to clean your After the Apple product, you do so entirely at your own risk.

Do not attempt to clean the product with substances intended for other purposes. The cleaning and care is dependent on the type of leather.

COW AND LAMB LEATHER
If leather is wet, do not wipe. Pat gently with a woollen cloth. Grease marks may be removed with unscented talcum. If the leather is intentionally distressed, it will be more porous, therefore more susceptible to marks. Please seek advice before attempting to clean.

SPLIT SUEDE
Velvet leather requires regular maintenance. Again, you can do this at your own risk or employ the expertise of your local boot-maker or leather specialist as recommended. We recommend spraying Suede products before use, then re-apply regularly. This assists in water and dirt repellent.
Please note darker suede may transfer colour onto lighter materials when wet and when first purchased. If product is wet, dry in a well ventilated area, away form heat and direct light.

PYTHON
Reticulated Python has the ability to last for many years, so take the time to give them the attention they deserve. Do not expose to direct heat or sunlight which may cause uneven fading to occur. Python skins may dry out faster than leather. To prevent that, periodically apply a leather conditioner made specifically for exotic skins.
Before applying the conditioner, thoroughly clean the surface with a damp rag. Apply the conditioner on a lint-free or microfiber cloth, not directly on the item, in several light, even coats, letting the skin dry between applications.
If something is spilled on the Python skin, blot gently and then use a little warm water on the stain right away.

LINING
All leather products are lined with a woven collection themed signature lining. All Python bags are lined with a faux suede. Linings may be washed very carefully with a luke-warm wet cloth and mild soap.Do not wet the exterior of the bag.

LEATHER CLEANER

AT YOUR OWN RISK
Apply sparingly to the surface of the leather. The cream will penetrate the leather quickly, protecting, nourishing and prolonging the life of the skin. No need to polish after application.
Do not use on Suede or Nubuck.
It is recommended to be tested on a non-visible area of the product. For a high-shine surface, polish the leather gently with a natural coloured soft woollen cloth, if necessary.

RETURNS

RESPONSIBILITY
If a leather product is handled without respect, it will react accordingly. After the Apple is neither responsible nor liable for product that is handled in this manner. After the Apple will not approve an RA on this basis.
